Owner, Licensed Professional Counselor

My approach is both collaborative and engaging working 'with' you and not just silently observing. Having worked with a wide range of clients from diverse backgrounds, I've learned to customize my approach to best meet 'your' needs and not force you to fit a predetermined modality.

Currently, I specialize in anxiety, career issues and relationships, but I also have training/experience with grief, divorce/separation and stress management. I also have a strong passion for working with current, and returning, military veterans having previously worked in the intelligence field for the U.S. Navy.

In addition, I've been an Adjunct Professor at Lakeland University teaching graduate level courses in counseling. I am also fortunate enough to be part of a program with Stanford University and the Ukrainian government providing mental health services to those affected by the war in Ukraine. I also enjoy supervising post-graduate interns and am the Owner of Great Lakes Clinic and Consultants.

My practice philosophy is simple: We all deserve to feel well. Sometimes, feeling “well” isn’t as easy as it sounds. I am a warm and approachable provider who will optimize listening to your mental health goals as we together develop a therapeutic treatment plan.

My skills allow me to assess, diagnose, and treat mental health conditions that may inhibit you from feeling your best, or even feeling yourself. These symptoms experienced daily can harbor happiness, sleep, appetite, relationships, and overall wellness. I am driven to assist others to live a life with meaning, hope, and happiness.

I treat preteens through adults who seek to manage their mental health in a collaborative approach. Treatment plans may include medication management and referral for talk therapy. My professional goal is to provide a safe environment and effective management of symptoms. I strive to empower others and focus on the strengths we possess for our well-being.

Have you been trying to grow your family and it is not going as you'd planned? Was the pregnancy, birth, or time after birth not the joyous time that others spoke about? Do you feel stress, sadness, anger, guilt, shame, or other big emotions about how things were "supposed to look"? These are normal reactions going through what you've experienced. I understand this first hand. However, you don't have to go through this alone. You're already looking for a therapist, which is the first step, and I'm proud of you for taking that step.

We will tackle all those hard emotions together. I specialize, both through education and personal experience, with any gender or sexual orientation experiencing fertility challenges, pregnancy complications, birth trauma, nicu stays postpartum challenges, medical parenting & secondary infertility. Working with me, you are more than a diagnosis or a label.

Therapy is hard work, but that doesn't mean our time together will be all business. Laughing is welcome and encouraged too! My hope is you will leave each session with techniques to use when we aren't together and feel you have a supportive environment to release any and all emotions and thoughts keeping you from your goals. I look forward to helping you.

With a deep understanding of children's unique needs and challenges, I am committed to fostering their emotional well-being and helping them thrive. Through a combination of evidence-based approaches, a warm therapeutic environment, and personalized care, I work to empower children so they may navigate their emotions, develop resilience, and build a strong foundation for a fulfilling future.

My therapeutic approach is rooted in evidence-based practices tailored to each child's unique needs. Drawing from cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), and mindfulness-based interventions, I employ a whole-person approach that considers the child's developmental stage, cultural background, and strengths.

I believe in creating a nonjudgmental and inclusive environment where children feel heard, valued, and understood. My goal is to empower children to develop self-awareness, emotional regulation, problem-solving skills, and healthy coping mechanisms that serve them well into adulthood.

Services I offer include: individual therapy, play therapy, parent counseling and support.
